Bed & Breakfast at Casa Aurea Inn - a charming colonial style mansion in Santa Teresa Rio de Janeiro. A romantic setting for individual tourists, couples and families.
The Rooms and Suites of Guest House Casa Aurea Inn, Santa Teresa are decorated with
Works of Art, made by artists of our neighborhood Santa Tereza. Full
Breakfast with tropical fruits is served on the generous garden
terrace. Our guests fall in love with our tropical garden, and take a
chance hanging out on the hammocks.
Guest House Casa Aurea Inn is set on a quiet street in charming Santa Teresa, this handsome two-story house has been converted into a simple familial guesthouse that remains one of the neighborhood's better-kept secrets. Casa Aurea Inn is within a short walking distance to the bonde (tram) as well as the area's best restaurants and bars.
Your host, Cornelius Rohr has transformed the historic mansion into
a veritable, small Hotel de Charme - as a talented carpenter, he
designed the furniture and the interior design. Our Bed & Breakfast
Casa Aurea is recommended by Lonely Planet and FootPrint. Cornelius' family comes
from Switzerland, he will welcome you his native German or fluent
English.
Casa Aurea Inn B&B as reviewed by Regis St. Louis, Lonely Planet
The rooms on the first floor at Casa Aurea Inn feature wood floors, high ceilings, and
have a light and airy feel. There's no air-con, and you'll have shared
bathrooms and showers. Basement rooms have less light, but have air-con
and private bathrooms. For the ambience we prefer upstairs; if you
can't take the heat, you'll want a downstairs suite.
The best part of Casa Aurea Inn, however, is the large private garden
behind the house. Here you'll find an open-air kitchen available for
guest use, lush vegetation and relaxing nooks for curling up with a
book or dozing in a hammock. From time to time, tiny monkeys make their
appearance in the trees (hint: they like bananas).
Staying at Pousada Casa Aurea Inn you will get in
touch with Charme of the historic Rio de Janeiro, you will deeply relax
and feel the true spirit of this marvellous city, or "Cidade
Maravilhosa" - a unique experience sometimes missing in the touristic
districts and hotels of Copacabana and Ipanema. People from Rio,
especially from Santa Teresa, are very open-minded and always in mood
for having small-talk with you, even if you don't know a single word of
Portuguese, live here is easy going and spontaneous, and open hearted.
Frommer's Review:
The Casa Aurea is only a short walk up the road from
the main square in Santa Teresa and offers very affordable
accommodations. Popular with younger travelers and backpackers, the
pousada offers rooms with shared bathrooms or private rooms with an en
suite bathroom. The rooms are simply furnished but very clean and
pleasant with high ceilings and large windows with wooden shutters. The
large house has a gorgeous garden and patio, outdoor reading lounge,
sitting room, and barbecue area, and is decorated with lovely artwork
by some of the well-known artists from Santa Teresa.
